Abstract

Background. High-risk age for pregnant women is < 20 or > 35 years, the possibility of a bad pregnancy / complications will increase, such as preterm labor. Premature birth is the main cause in almost 2/3 of births. Preterm labor is a labor that occurs in pregnancy between 28 - 37 weeks. The incidence in BPM Bidan Nanik Suwati, Pungging Village, Mojosari Sub-District, which is from 80 women giving birth, found 7 respondents experienced preterm labor including 4 (57.14%) aged <20 and> 35 years and 3 (42.86%) aged 20 - 30 years.Objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between pregnant women's high-risk age with the preterm of labor in Bidan Praktik Mandiri (BPM) Bidan Nanik Suwati, Amd. Keb, Pungging Village, Mojosari Sub-District, Mojokerto District.Methods. The research method used is analytic correlation with a case control approach using research instruments in the form of secondary data. The sample technique used in this study was total sampling, so the sample of the study was all pregnant women of high-risk age in BPM Nanik Suwati, Pungging Village, Mojosari Sub-District at 68 respondents. The results of data collection were processed by chi-square statistical test (X2) with a significance distance of α = 0.05.Results. From the results of the study, almost half (31%) of respondents experienced preterm labor and most (69%) of respondents experienced term delivery. Shows a significant relationship between the age of high-risk pregnant women with the incidence of preterm labor with a value of P = 0.036.Conclusion. The factors that influence preterm labor, such as parity, frequency of ANC patients, and obstetric complications. Therefore, it should be recommended for mothers as much as possible not to become pregnant at a high-risk age, namely age <20 and> 35 years. Keywords:      High Risk Age, Pregnant Women, Preterm Labor Incidence.

Abstract

Background: There was joint pain that frequently happens by the elderly, which was joint pain. One of actions to abate the joint pain was compress with warm ginger.Objectives: The aims of this research were to identify the effect of warm ginger compress towards joint pain of the elderly at UPT Panti Werdha Mojopahit, Mojokerto District.Method: Design of this research was Pre-Experiment with Type of one group pre-test-post test design. Population of this research was whole of elderly who undergoes joint pain at UPT Panti Werdha Mojopahit Mojokerto district. Technique that used to take sample in this research was purposive sampling with 20 respondents. Data collecting was done before and after warm ginger compress was given use pain scale instrument PAINAD with 1-10 scale. The researcher used Wilcoxon statistic test with value of α=0, 05 to analyze the data.Results: The result of this research wasgained before carried out by warm ginger compress with advance pain scale of 6 respondents (30%), and intermediate pain scale of 10 respondents (50%). After the warm ginger compress was done by 8 respondents (40%) with light pain scale and 11 respondents (55%) with intermediate pain. Data analyzing used statistic test with Wilcoxon P value test 0,003 (α˂ 0, 05). It showed that warm ginger compress effective towards joint pain of the elderly.Conclusion: Looking at the result above shows that warm ginger compress can be created as one of alternative choices to decrease joint pain intensity of the elderly, because this non-pharmacologist treatment uses easy to be obtained ingredient and there is no side effect for the elderly.Key words: Joint Pain, Warm Ginger Compress, Elderly.

Abstract

Background. Having a healthy and prosperous life in old age is the hope of every elderly person. In achieving a healthy and prosperous old age, various efforts have been made by the government, one of which is an Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) program.Objectives. This study aims to analyze the relationship of motivation of the elderly and elderly visits to the Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) in Klampisan Hamlet, Kedunggede Village, Dlanggu Sub-District, Mojokerto District.Methods. The research design used is analytic cross sectional. The population in this study were all elderly residents of Klampisan Hamlet, Kedunggede Village, Dlanggu Subdistrict, Mojokerto District who had attended the Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) as many as 52 people. The sampling technique in the study was simple random sampling. The sample size in this study was 46 people. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire for motivational variables, and a visit book for elderly visiting to the Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) variables.Results. The results showed that the average value of motivation was 68.5870, indicating strong motivation. The average visit value is 1.9348, indicating that the visit is not active. Based on the results of the analysis using the Spearman Rho correlation test obtained ρ = 0.00 <α = 0.05, so that it can be interpreted that there is a relationship between the motivation of the elderly and elderly visits to the Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) in Klampisan Hamlet, Kedunggede Village, Dlanggu Sub-District, Mojokerto District.Conclusion. Based on the results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the motivation of the elderly and elderly visits to the Elderly Integrated Service Post in Klampisan Hamlet, Kedunggede Village, Dlanggu Sub-District, Mojokerto District, which could mean that the elderly had strong motivation, then the visit to the Elderly Integrated Service Post would be active. On the contrary, the elderly whose motivation is weak then visit the Elderly Integrated Service Post (Posyandu Lansia) is not active. Keywords: motivation of the elderly, elderly visits, the elderly integrated service post, posyandu lansia

Abstract

Background: Urinary incontinence is an uncontrolled release of urine in considerable amounts, this is due to changes in bladder structure and pelvic floor muscle resulting in the elderly being unable to withstand urine during urination.Objectives: The aims of this research were to determine the influence of kegel exercise on elderly patients with urinary incontinence in Technical Implementation Unit of Social Service Tresna Werdha Jombang.Method: The design of pre-experimental research design with one group pre-post-test design approach, conducted on 25 April to 25 May 2018. The Population of all elderly urinary incontinence in Technical Implementation Unit of Social Service Tresna Werdha Jombang were 10 respondents. Sampling technique total sampling. Independent variable of kegel exercise, dependent variable urinary incontinence. Data collection using ICIQ - UI SF questionnaire. Statistical test using Wilcoxon with significant level α = 0.05.Results: The Result of the study from 10 respondents, mostly 7 respondents (70%) before the kegel exercise had moderate urinary incontinence, while almost all of 8 respondents (80%) after kegel exercise had mild urinary incontinence. Wilcoxon statistical test result obtained p value = 0,008 ≤ 0,05 then Ha accepted so that there is influence of kegel exercise on elderly patients with urinary incontinence in Technical Implementation Unit of Social Service Tresna Werdha Jombang.Conclusion: Kegel exercise proved to increase pelvic floor muscle strength and reduce urinary incontinence, so it is necessary to do the elderly regularly and periodically. Key words: Kegel Exercise, Urinary Incontinence, Elderly.

Abstract

The breastfeeding program for babies is very encouraged by the government on the grounds that there are many benefits of breastfeeding that can be given to babies. One of the supporting factors for the success of the program is to prepare the breast so that it can produce abundant milk and contains lots of nutrients. Preparation of pregnant women to provide quality breastfeeding is by treating the breast during pregnancy in the final trimester of pregnancy. Warm massage and compresses on the breast have several effects, including improving blood flow and making the nipple more elastic and not easily scratched when breastfeeding later.Key words: Pregnant women, breast care, breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background. In childbirth, there are several factors that can affect the smooth delivery of the second stage, one of which is influenced by straining factors that can be anticipated by doing pregnancy exercise, in which pregnancy exercise can affect the slow pace of the second stage of childbirth process.Objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of pregnancy exercise on the smooth delivery of the second stage of childbirth process in Eka Medika Pratama Clinic, Pungging Village, Mojosari Sub-District, Mojokerto District.Methods. The method used in this study is analytic with a case control approach using research instruments in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets with a check list. The sample is some of the mothers who do pregnancy exercise and do not do pregnancy exercise during pregnancy in Eka Medika Pratama Clinic, Pungging Village, Mojosari Sub-District, Mojokerto District.Results. The results of data collection were processed by chi-square statistical test (X²) with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between pregnancy exercise and the smoothness of the second stage of childbirth process with a value of P = 0.007.Conclusion. Most of the respondents who do pregnancy exercise undergo the second stage of childbirth process more quickly than mothers who are not doing pregnancy exercise. Suggestions given in the results of this study are expected midwives provide counseling to pregnant women about the importance of doing pregnancy exercise during pregnancy to facilitate the second stage of childbirth process. Keywords: Pregnancy exercise, smooth delivery, second stage of childbirth process

Abstract

Background: The Indonesia Sehat Program is a program to improve the quality of life of the Indonesian people. The target of this program is to improve the health and nutritional status of the community through health and community empowerment efforts supported by financial protection and equitable distribution of health services. The latest estimate of the International Diabetes Federation, there are 382 million people living with Diabetes in the world in 2013. By 2035 this number is expected to increase to 592 million people.Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the role of families in diet monitoring with the level of compliance with Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients in carrying out the Diabetes Mellitus diet at Kebonsari Candi Sidoarjo.Method: This study used correlational design with a sample of 25 people. Samples were obtained using total sampling method. The instrument used to obtain data in this study is a questionnaire. The data obtained were then analyzed by using the Spearman test with p ≤ 0,01.Results: Families who play an active role in the supervision of diabetic patients with diabetes mellitus are related to the level of patient compliance in the obedient category of 44%. Based on the Spearman Rank test with p <0.01, the correlation level is 0.600. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the role of families in diet monitoring and the level of adherence to type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in carrying out a diabetes mellitus diet has a strong level of correlation.Conclusion: Families are required to play an active role in supervising diabetics in carrying out the diabetes mellitus diet so that it can prevent complications of the disease and the quality of life of the sufferer. Key words: The Role of Families, Diet Compliance, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia), which occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion, insulin activity and both (Brunner & Suddarth, 2014). The role of the family is needed for diabetics related to well-being and health where the family environment is a place for individuals to learn for life (Friedman, 2010). The role of the family is the most powerful indicator in giving a positive impact on the implementation of diabetes exercise which acts as a glicemic control which is controlling and regulating blood sugar levels.Objective: The aim of the study was to describe the role of families in implementing diabetes exercise in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients at Gayungan Health Center, Dukuh Menanggal, Surabaya.Method: The design of this study used descriptive research. The population is all families who have family members with diabetes mellitus cases with a large sample of 4O people. Sampling using the Total sampling technique The variables studied were the role of family in implementing diabetes exercise. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires.Results: The results of the study showed that of the 40 respondents in the Gayungan Community Health Center working area in Dukuh Menanggal dated 40% the role of good family, 32.5% was sufficient, 27.5 was lacking in supporting the implementation of diabetes exerciseConclusion: The family role of almost half is in the good category. The family should play an active role in the management of diabetes exercises in family members who suffer from diabetes mellitus so that blood glucose levels can be controlled properly. Keywords: The role of the family, diabetes exercise, diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Background. The survival of children to grow and develop and get good care is needed to achieve a healthy generation. The success of exclusive breastfeeding in infants 0-6 months in Indonesia still does not meet expectations due to a poor knowledge of the importance Exclusive Breastfeeding and their perception of infant formula is better than breast milk. The low achievement of breastfeeding (ASI) exclusively due to several factors, namely low knowledge of the mother of the importance of breastfeeding, the sex of the baby, birth weight or premature birth, culture that does not support, families that do not support, and social change that happening in the community.Objective. This study aimed to examine predictive factors toward the success of exclusive breastfeeding among breastfeeding mothers in Child’s Poly DKT Gubeng Pojok Hospital, Surabaya.Methods. The design of this study is a cross-sectional study. The variables studied were age, occupation, level of education, family support, and exclusive breastfeeding success. The results of this study were analyzed using the Stepwise Multiple Regression method with SPSS 21.Result. Family support (β = 0.78, p < .001) were significant predictor of exclusive breastfeeding success and accounted 75.9% in the variance of exclusive breastfeeding success (R2 = .759, F (4, 27) = 9.18, p < .001).Conclusion. The importance of family support in supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding in infants 0-6 months. For this reason, health workers are expected to improve their approach to families so that they want to provide support to breastfeeding mothers. Keywords: Exclusive breastfeeding, infants 0-6 months, factors affecting, breastfeeding mothers

Abstract

Background: Head injuries are a major cause of disability and death under the age of 45 years. The main focus on handling head injury patients is to prevent and limit the occurrence of secondary brain injury which will ultimately affect the outcome of the sufferer. Emergency conditions in head injury patients certainly require quick and appropriate help for better outcome outcomes.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of respiratory frequency with the outcome of head injury patients in the emergency department of Bangil Hospital Pasuruan Regency.Methods: This research method is quantitative with a cross sectional approach involving 53 respondents. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling method. The outcome of head injury patients was measured using the Trauma and Injury Severity Score (TRISS) scale.Results: Data were analyzed using the Spearman test which showed a relationship p value = 0.013 <α = 0.05 so that H0 was rejected or there was a significant relationship between respiratory frequency (RR) and the outcome of head injury patients.Conclusion: The need for improvement and development of nurse resources through nursing education, emergency training and evaluation of health services at the ED. Keywords: Head Injury, Respiratory Frequency (RR), Outcome.
